Learn about credit card spending. It may not be one of the most interesting things that you study, but it will be one of the most important subjects that you learn about. Find out what the definitions of phrases like credit limit, APR, balance transfer balance, etc.

Keep Control

Many people like what they see and decide that a credit card is the answer. One chooses to pay now and worry about the consequences later. Those consequences will come. To avoid future disaster, control spending now.

Only make purchases with your credit card that you have the money to spend that is in the bank. When your statement comes, you will be able to pay off the bill because you are using money that you currently have.

Sometimes responsible credit card spending comes from learning from past mistakes. It's the "rude awakening" scenario. It's smart to avoid it at all costs. As long as you know what the purpose of a credit card is, have control over your spending and only purchase what your actual budget allows. Mastering responsible credit card spending may not be a thrill ride, but it will definitely pay off in the long run.
